Behind Fall Colors

 I am so far behind in my photography I thought I was in front of it.  Well, I truly need to get it all sorted out so I can start some new stuff next month.  I almost missed the chance to take images of some truly great fall leave colors and seed pods.  Noted on my calendar for next year - Do Not Miss that opportunity again.   I love this leave on the top, I call it Aztec Gold and its over on Etsy avail in prints, but its fallen in the bird bath and the water has created an unusual background which I really like.

Another favorite leaf that had such veining contrast was paired with some seed pods from the flower Cleome.  The name of this photo is Elope With Me...    The name Cleome means: Elope With Me and so I thought it would be fun to give that title to this beautiful image. 

Next year on Etsy I will offer my prints and also offer them as note cards.  Right now its all I can do to try and sort through all my folders, favorites and pick and choose what to work with.   Happy Holidays everyone!

End of Season Color

A photo prompt brought me outside with my macro lens to see if I could capture some of that vibrant color only fall can bring to the leaves turning color.  I found some great leaves and also some great seed pods from my flowers.  These are marigold petals and some seeds which truly appear to be tiny paint brushes and the pallet of an artist.  Texture by R H West.

Drawing Without An Eraser

I tried something new with a studio type photo of one of the rabbits in my collection and a few colorful leaves left from fall.  I just put the rabbit and leaves on some freezer paper for the background so it would be plain but I think I could have used a white flour towel too!  Maybe next try I will use that.  So here I have used a couple of layers and a recipe from The Test Kitchen
http://photoshoptestkitchen.com/.  I only did a couple little things different than the tutorial showed but I like the soft over all effect and how it took a very stark image and transformed it into something more.   The Brush I used is an art brush that was added at the last, Life Is The Art Of Drawing Without An Eraser.  Enjoy!

Little Green Frog

I almost did not enter this in the contest for animals but I got picked to be looked at again with the little green frog.   It is sitting among my zinnias and so there were leaves and all sorts of green stuff in the way.   Then I gave it some textured layers.
